Land Acknowledgement

Sheko:li (Saygolee) Friends of Huron-Perth Centre
The Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth is honoured to be gathering on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee/People of the Longhouse. We also honour the nations of the Wyandat/Huron and Anishnaabe peoples as historically belonging to this part of Turtle Island which our Indigenous call North America and have lived here for millennia.
Our work is an active part of reconciliation, recognizing the healing all community members need for the wellness of our society.

Diversity Commitment

The Huron-Perth Centre acknowledges that while mental health symptoms can affect anyone regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or socioeconomic status, some groups are disproportionately affected by systems of oppression and discrimination, particularly BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ populations.

The Huron-Perth Centre is committed to providing services that are accessible, equitable and responsive to the diversity of those who access our services. We acknowledge that all staff are on their own personal and professional journey in terms of learning about culturally responsive, anti-oppressive and de-colonized services so that we can meet the needs of everyone who reaches out to us for help.

The Huron-Perth Centre works with clients and community partners to enhance our capacity to meet the needs of equity-seeking populations. We also strive to reduce barriers that clients might face in accessing services by offering financial support for transportation, offering virtual services, offering flexible scheduling for appointments, offering in home and in community supports and offering translation supports.
