We are the Lead Agency for Child and Youth Mental Health Services in Huron-Perth
The Huron-Perth Centre is the Lead Agency for child and youth mental health services in Huron and Perth counties. In 2015, as a result of system transformation, the Government of Ontario identified 31 child and youth mental health lead agencies in 33 service areas across the province.
The newly identified lead agencies then came together to form the Lead Agency Consortium (LAC). As a Lead Agency, the Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth is a member of the LAC.
Each lead agency is responsible, in their service area, for planning and building a stronger mental health system for children, youth and families. And while daily efforts are focused locally, many of the opportunities and challenges also include planning for a stronger provincial child and youth service system. Provincial leadership has been a focus of the LAC from its inception.
The goals of the LAC are outlined in the Provincial Priorities Report: “Realizing the Potential”.
